How can Queensland inspire an entire nation? Hydro is how.

Securing a stable transition to renewable energy.

The key to Queensland’s clean energy transformation is the planning and development of two world-class, pumped hydro energy storage facilities proposed at Lake Borumba and in the Pioneer Valley. Pumped hydro energy storage will play a critical role in helping to meet the Queensland and Australian Governments’ renewable energy targets and lower CO2 emissions.

These game-changing projects will ensure Queensland can harness and maximise the abundant renewable energy sources we’re lucky to have access to in our state.

The two projects are at separate stages of planning. Both are vital to ensure our state can become self-sufficient in renewable energy and deliver a stable and reliable electricity supply for all Queenslanders.
