How do we do the right thing for future generations? Hydro is how.
Nature positive.
We share the aspirations of the community and also want the best for Queensland’s environment.
We care about the environment we’re working in, and we want to draw from local knowledge to shape decisions and improve project planning. We intend to do our projects right – which means right for both the environment and the communities near them.
As renewable energy projects, we want to deliver benefits to the local environment over and above the benefits of transitioning to a renewable energy future.
If there’s something you think we need to know about in your local environment, please reach out so we can factor all relevant details into our planning.
Before any approvals are granted, rigorous assessment of the environmental, social and economic impacts on the lands, communities and way of life in the areas where the Borumba and Pioneer-Burdekin Projects are proposed, must be undertaken.
- For the proposed Borumba Project, an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will enable all relevant knowledge to be gathered and assessed to help make the right choices as we look to progress this essential part of Queensland’s clean energy transformation.
- For the Pioneer-Burdekin Project, the state and federal governments will make a decision on the best assessment pathway if the Queensland Government decides the Project will progress. Once that happens, we’ll continue to work with the local community to ensure everyone can have their say.
Ultimately, our goal is to deliver enduring benefits to nature and community over and above the positive climate impacts of our proposed pumped hydro projects.
